On Saturday, February 10th at 3:00 pm, the Library will screen the film I Am Not Your Negro at the Library's Main Branch. This documentary is based on the unfinished manuscript by James Baldwin. His book was going to be a personal account of the lives and assassinations of three of his close friends: Medgar Evers, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr. The film is narrated by Samuel L. Jackson and explores the history of racism in the United States through Baldwin's reminiscences of the civil rights movement.
